FAQ
Do I need to set up a home server or NAS?
No. Turning on sharing in Wolfie on a Mac you already own is enough — it's discovered automatically by every other device on the same Wi-Fi. Wolfie isn't a client for a separate server product; the Mac running Wolfie is the server.
What if I don't have a Mac to share from?
Point Wolfie at a folder of music already on your iPhone or iPad — On My iPhone/iPad storage, iCloud Drive, or a third-party file provider — and it plays straight from there, no Mac or network involved.
Is there a subscription?
No. Wolfie is free to try for 30 days, then a single $29.99 purchase unlocks it permanently — no monthly fee, no renewal.
Can I listen away from home / offline?
Yes, for anything you download — downloads are resumable and playable with no network at all. Live streaming from a shared Mac requires being on the same Wi-Fi as that Mac; Wolfie doesn't offer remote access outside your home network.
What music formats does it support?
Wolfie plays the files you already have — including FLAC and other hi-res formats — exactly as they're organized in your folders, with gapless playback between tracks.
Does Wolfie use my Apple Music library?
No. Apple Music's library is DRM-protected and sandboxed, so no third-party app — Wolfie included — can read it. Wolfie plays files you control directly: ripped CDs, purchased FLACs, or anything else sitting in a folder.
